We understand it is not always possible to attend a sale or collect your winning lots in person. We now offer our own in-house postage and packing service for our specialist sales, which is integrated with our online catalogues. Under each lot is an estimated shipping cost for the UK. Following the auction, you will be able to 'Add shipping' at checkout. If purchasing multiple lots, shipping will be automatically calculated. If no shipping quote is shown, the item is not suitable for our in-house postage team.
Login to your www.davidlay.co.uk account in the top right corner of the screen. Choose 'View Account' from the drop-down menu, then 'Invoice and Settlements' here you will have an option to 'Add shipping' to your invoice.
We will not be held responsible for any damaged or broken items but where possible we will assist in making claims through the Royal Mail or Parcelforce but cannot guarantee this.
For very fragile items (ceramics, china, glass, etc.), high-value lots and international postage we recommend MBE (contact details below) who specialise in packing and delivering such items.
You are of course, welcome to arrange your own courier or use one of the recommended couriers listed below.
For bulky, heavy items and furniture or large, glazed paintings, please contact one of the recommended local and long-distance carriers listed below who will be happy to quote and deliver your items following the sale. Please note Vans4Us collect from us approximately one week after the sale and deliver nationwide.
Our small dedicated postage team works hard to answer all postage queries as quickly as possible. Our rates are competitive but it may take 5-10 working days before we can dispatch your items.
If you require a very fast turnaround or if your item is not suitable for our in-house postage team then alternatively we recommend these couriers.
