Fine Art
Our Fine Art auctions are nationally renowned, fetching unparalleled prices for paintings, sculptures, posters and works of art. Each sale comprises works by artists from all around the world, with a particular focus on works by important Cornish works, including Stanhope Forbes, Walter Langley, Samuel ‘Lamorna’ Birch and Henry Moore. They are held every three months.
Antiques
Our Antiques auctions are wide-ranging sales with lots comprising fine and rare items from the local area and beyond, including Furniture, Jewellery, Silver, Ceramics and Oriental items. The sales are centred around a base of high value, high quality lots, from Ancient Egyptian offerings to Berlin KPM porcelain to Bernard Leach studio pottery.
Collectors’
Our Collectors’ sales, held bi-annually, showcase postcards, coins, medals, stamps, toy, books and manuscripts, many of which are of local interest. We also auction private collections, for example our 2013 (?) Pendarves library sale, in which a huge number of books concerning mining and local geography were auctioned as part of an impressive two day sale.
Fine Wine
Last October, we held our first sale of Fine Wines and Spirits, a hugely successful event centred around bottles from two cellars, one local, and one near London. The auction including a Chateau D’Yquem, Chateau Margaux, Chateau Coeval Blanc and a full case of Chateau Lafite Rothschild 2001.
General Household
As well as holding specialist auctions, every three weeks, we also conduct large sales of general effects. Often totalling over 1800 lots, these sales are the perfect place to bring unwanted household items, or to pick up a bargain.
