Where Art Meets The Wave – Inspiring Cornish Artwork on a Radical Canvas
A charity auction in aid of Cornwall Hospice Care. This new art project sees local Cornish artists take one of 41 wooden belly boards specially made for the project by Fyne Boat Kits of Kendal and Derek Thompson of Surf Classic Boards, and use their own inspiration and skills to turn these simple boards into desirable works of art.
Through July, August and most of September of 2025 all 41 finished artworks will be exhibited at a number of art galleries and other locations around Cornwall.  In parallel to the exhibitions, the public will have the opportunity to place a bid in our online auction organised by Lay’s Auctioneers of Penzance, to make these unique artworks their own!  Bidding opens in July 2025.
Thursday 25th September 2025 will see the culmination of the project at St Michael's Church, Newquay with a final exhibition of all 41 artworks together coinciding with the final day of the auction.  The auction will end at 8pm and we hope to announce the total amount raised shortly after!

Through July, August and most of September of 2025 all 41 finished artworks will be exhibited at a number of art galleries and other locations around Cornwall.

Happy bidding and please bid generously for this very worthy cause.
