BIDDING AT THIS SALE 

  • Room bidding is by appointment only. There is limited availability and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Appointments are available to book by clicking here. A shuttle service will run from Marazion car parks periodically throughout the sale - further details will be sent to those with booked saleroom seats ahead of the sale.

  • Live online bidding is available through our website, the Saleroom or Easylive (*live bidding fees apply).

  • For telephone bidding, please contact us on 01736 361414 to book a phone line. There is limited availability for this service so please contact us as soon as possible if required.

  • Commission bids can be left in advance via our website, by emailing enquiries@davidlay.co.uk, by calling 01736 361414 or via third party bidding platforms. Commission bidding ends at 8am Tuesday 7th December.

BUYER’S PREMIUM 
Our buyer's premium is charged at 18% of the hammer price, meaning that the buyer shall pay the hammer price together with an 18% premium, plus VAT at 20% (on the premium only). 


ONLINE LIVE BIDDING SURCHARGESThere is an additional fee of 3% if you bid live via our website. You can also bid live online via your saleroom.com account, although the fee for this service is 4.95%, or via easyliveauction.com who offer commission-free bidding, instead of a flat fee of £3 charge (plus registration) is available. 


ARTIST’S RESALE RIGHTS/DROIT DE SUITE
 
If the Artist’s Resale Right Regulations 2006 apply to the Lot, the Buyer also agrees to pay to the Auctioneer an amount equal to the resale royalty provided for in those Regulations (“ARR Amount”) and the Auctioneer undertakes to the Buyer to pay such amount to the artist’s collection agent. 

The ARR Amount shall be a percentage of the Hammer Price calculated as follows, provided that the Hammer Price is €1,000 or greater:

INSPECTION & CONDITION
All descriptions, dimensions and condition reports are opinion only. It is the responsibility of the buyer to satisfy themselves as to the description, dimensions, and condition of the item before placing a bid. Please refer to our conditions of sale for more information.


PAYMENT
 
Following the close of the sale, successful bidders will receive an email containing a payment link. Please follow the instructions in order to complete the online transaction. You will receive payment confirmation upon completion. 

Alternatively, payment can be made over the phone by calling 01736 361414 or via bank transfer, bank details can be found on your invoice, please ensure that your invoice number is included as a reference. Invoices are due within one business day of the auction date.

For invoices in excess of €10,000, Anti Money Laundering regulations apply and we are obligated under the 5th Amendment of Anti-Money Laundering Directive to run a due diligence check in order to process your payment and release your items for collection. We will contact you with further details in this instance.


COLLECTION
 
Collections are by appointment only. Appointments will be available from Wednesday 8th December to Friday 10th December and can be booked at www.davidlay.co.uk/appointments. Please ensure your invoice has been paid prior to collection.

COVID GUIDELINES
We ask that face masks be worn on shuttle buses and when viewing the sale and that clients observe social distancing. 

If there are any changes to government guidelines ahead of the sale, we will contact any clients who have booked viewing slots or saleroom seats will be notified via email with further information.
